Lisa Deanne Gomez

It is with great sadness that the Gomez Family announces the unexpected passing of their daughter and sister, Lisa Deanne Gomez, 62, Saturday, January 1st, 2022. She was a graduate of Douglas Byrd High School. She served proudly in the Army as a family psychologist at 97th General Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. Upon Leaving the military she attended California State University of Chico, CA. After transferring to Appalachian State University in Boone, NC she received her Masters Degree in Art. She was born in Fort Lee, VA on July 31st, 1959 to Oscar and the Late Alice Gomez. She is survived by her siblings Trina Gomez of Fayetteville, Michael Gomez (Betty) of Swainsboro, GA, Juanita Maurer (Richard), Gina Pepper (Mark) and Joey Gomez, all of Fayetteville and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed reading, kayaking, music, dance, the beach and the mountains. She was happiest being close to nature. The family will receive friends and family Thursday, January 6th, 2022 at the home of Oscar Gomez from 6-8pm. For the safety of others, masks are optional. A memorial service will follow at a later date.
