Kathleen Gerda Dunning

September 1, 1942 - February 20, 2022

Kathleen Dunning, 79 of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022. She was born on September 1, 1942 in Heidelberg, Germany to Friedrich and Lieselotte Schafer. She was preceded in death by her husband John D Dunning, daughter Donna Healey, and grandchildren Christopher Walke and Diana Maria. Kathleen is survived by her daughter and son in law; Susan and Mike Sans, of Fayetteville, her grandchildren; John Walke II, Steven Dunning, Brandon Sans, and Michael Sans II all of Fayetteville, her great granddaughter; Chadli Walke of Fayetteville, her brother; Horst Schafer of Heidelberg, Germany, and her niece; Dorthee Kuhn of Heidelberg, Germany. The one thing she loved most of all was doing things and helping others. Her most favorite person in the world was her "Oma" of Heidelberg, Germany, as she loved her dearly. She cherished the friendship she had with her long time friend, Maria. She thought very highly of her "adopted grandson" Eric Walworth and knew she could always rely on him. There are so many people to be thankful for and our family appreciates everyone who helped this last year in her time of need, especially Ingrid who stayed and took care of her these past few weeks. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
