Joseph Shufford Fare, 81, of Fayetteville died at Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center on December 9, 2012. He was a First Sergeant in the US Army and a Vietnam Veteran retiring after 23 years of service in which he earned a Korean War Service Medal. There was a private family service on December 14, 2012 and the family asks that any memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Fare is survived by his wife Maria Spranger Fare, son Billy Joe Fare, Daughter Giesla Smith, brother Clarence Don Fare, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
