Anna Lee Waller Crumpton

Anna Lee Waller Crumpton, 74, passed away at her residence in Newton Grove on Nov. 19, 2014. She is formerly of Raleigh, Rancho Cordova, Calif., Rockledge, Fla., Columbus, Ga., Auburn, Ala., and Birmingham, Ala.. She was a graduate of Auburn University and North Carolina State University. She has been a Kindergarten teach at Meadow School, Exceptional Children Teacher at Four Oaks Middle School. She was a harpist, performing for over a quarter of a million school age children, over 4,500 weddings, numerous awards events, corporate events, church services, bank openings, for many events in the NC Governor’s Mansion for Governor’s Hunt and Martin, at the request of Governor Hunt for Princess Anne of England, and the request of President Ronald Reagan at the National Children’s Museum in the District of Columbia. She was a great wife, mom, and grand-mom who cherished her family and friends. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, in Unity Presbyterian Church, 11551 NC Highway 50 South, Newton Grove, NC 28366, with the Rev. Terry Batten officiating. She is survived by her husband, Dr. John M. Crumpton, Jr. of Newton Grove; son, John M. Crumpton III and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Crumpton of Charleston, S.C.; daughter, Loren Ann Dean and son-in-law, Eric Dean of Four Oaks; sister, H. Loren Tanner and brother-in-law, Dr. George W. Tanner of Bithlo, Fla; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Jimmy V. Foundation of Raleigh; Unity Presbyterian Church of Newton Grove or Johnston County Industries of Salem.
