Marilyn Joyce Daniels

Marilyn Joyce Daniels, originally from Detroit, Michigan and long time resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Marilyn has been reunited with her parents Ernest and Julie Peck, her beloved husband, Charles (Chuck) Daniels, her sister Dorothy and a host of special family and friends who all proceeded her in death. Marilyn leaves behind her three children Denise Daniels Stegall, Sharon Daniels White, son in law Leon White ,a son Mark Steven Daniels and one grandson, Shawn Black and wife Casey. Marilyn also leaves behind her beloved brother Ernest Peck and wife Beverly. Marilyn was blessed with three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn loved her family and friends. She enjoyed planning and hosting cookouts, holiday dinners and celebrating life with those special to her. She had a love for music of all genres. She was an avid gardener who loved her yard and the outdoors, the beach and fishing. Marilyn enjoyed her church and bible study group at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church. In her day, she was vibrant, fun-loving and feisty and always one step ahead of you. After losing the love of her life, Chuck, at a tender age of 34 to the Vietnam War, Marilyn raised her three young children alone,claiming Fayetteville as her home. She will be missed for her inimitable spirit, her love for fish frys, cookouts and for telling us all that she loved us a "bushel and a peck and a hug around our neck." A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Patrick’s Church on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 am. A short gathering to speak with family will be held in the church prior to mass from 10:30-11:00 am. Burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington Virginia where she will join the love of her life. In memory of Marilyn, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, volunteer at a local nursing facility or plant a tree or flower in her memory. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to everyone who assisted in Marilyn’s care throughout this long journey, from her first caregiver to her last caregivers. Marilyn was blessed with many who grew to know and love her.
